16 Trinity Square in Llandudno played a significant role during World War II, serving as a base for American Army medics who were stationed there for training at Llandudno Hospital, preparing for action in Europe. At the time, the building operated as the Drummond Hotel. Llandudno itself was a key location for military preparations, with various buildings and hotels requisitioned for the war effort. The American medics stationed here were likely involved in treating soldiers, preparing for D-Day, and providing medical support to the Allied forces.

After the war, the building found new purposes. From the mid-1980s, it became the Wales headquarters for the National Trust, and today, it operates as serviced offices. This historical legacy makes 16 Trinity Square an important part of Llandudno’s contribution to the wartime efforts and its evolving local significance.

The building shot to worldwide fame during the Covid lockdown of 2020, when Llandudno’s now-famous wild goats decided to reclaim the town as their own. With the streets empty of people, 16 Trinity Square became the unofficial “goat HQ,” as the cheeky herd roamed freely, nibbling on garden hedges and making headlines around the globe. Their antics turned the sleepy building into an overnight sensation, capturing the hearts of millions and putting Llandudno—and its mischievous four-legged residents—on the world map!

Even Jeep motors in the USA featured the building and the Great Orme Goats in their publicity!
